Accurate prediction of heat transfer is essential for temperature-dependent operations and the effective design of geothermal wells. The EDS conducts detailed energy balance calculations that account for key heat transfer mechanisms, including:

  • convection (natural, forced)
  • conduction
  • Joule-Thomson cooling and heating

 

The system supports both an analytical model and a finite difference method

for modeling formation heat transfer. These models have been rigorously

validated against extensive field pilot data.
